Dear Friends,
It is with profound sadness that we tell you that Bill Korsgard passed away October 6, 2008, with his wife and daughter by his side.
As many of you know, he was diagnosed with lung cancer last December. He completed chemo in July and as recently as September 17, his lab work and scans indicated that the chemo had been very effective. He has been feeling good, if tired. Last Thursday, he commented that he thought he was coming down with a cold. Friday morning around 10:45am he went into Meriter ER, announced that he wasn't feeling well, and immediately became violently ill. We now know that the cancer had also been growing from the inside out in his left upper airway, which abruptly manifested itself, causing massive hemoraghing.
Bill wished to be cremated and disliked visitations and open casket viewings and we are honoring his preferences.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00am this Sunday in Verona at the pond located at the east end of Pasqual's at 100 Cross Country Rd, Verona. Dress casually and bring a blanket or tailgate. In lieu of flowers please donate to NPR. Please share this with anyone you know would like to be there who is regretfully not included above.
Ingrid and I would like to thank all of the family, friends and medical personnel who supported the three of us through these last several months of Bill's battle with cancer, and these last difficult days of his life. Please know that Bill appreciated all of you, as do we.
Dena and Ingrid Korsgard
