Reduced the wing dihedral to reduce roll coupling with rudder. All other Zero's exhibit massive amounts of proverse roll with rudder (they roll in the direction of the rudder input).
Moved the engine forward 2.5" (63.5mm) to avoid adding 7 several pounds of lead to the nose to balance the plane on the CG like the Ultra RC kit. (It makes me wonder if the designer of the Ultra RC plane ever flew a prototype!!)
3-piece wing makes it so easy to roll the plane on the ground. No flipping the plane over to install the wing! There is no need to hook up air lines, flap servo extensions, center of wing and more at the airfield. Just roll it out to the flightline, and pop on the two wing tips, secure the wing tips with the machine guns, and it's ready to fly. The center section of the wing and stabs are about the same width, 40" which can easily fit into any vehicle.
Machine guns hold on the wings. It is not necessary to flip the plane on its back to install unsightly screws to hold on the wings. Just slip the wing tips on and insert the machine guns.
The wing airfoil is much more symmetrical so that the plane doesn't balloon at high speed. The flatter bottom wing required a lot of down thrust to keep the plane on track, this new wing greatly reduces the downthrust required.
Removable stabs make it easier for storage or travel.
